Annis Jordan Harrell was born on July 22, 1907 in New Hope, GA to William and Nannie Lou Parker. Mrs. Harrell was one of eight children; four boys and four girls. Being the oldest girl, she did not complete her high school education because she had to help her family with daily chores. The family later moved to Atlanta, GA in order to find jobs. She went to work for Rich’s Department Store as a Merchandise Marker and was so fast and proficient at her job it turned out to be a lifelong career. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur Parker, Hoyt Parker, Herman Parker, Truman Parker and sisters, Georgia Hollis, Viola Smith and Zella Davis.
Survivors include her daughter, Geraldine H. Mitchell, who took care of her for fifteen years after Mrs. Harrell survived a stroke, grandson, Larry Mitchell; great-grandsons Chris Mitchell(Kari), Kevin Mitchell (Christine)
and great-great-grandsons, twins, Andrew and Bryan Mitchell and Lane Mitchell. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and was dearly loved by all who felt truly blessed to have her in their lives for so many years. She enjoyed cooking and working in the yard in her early years and in recent years enjoyed traveling, attending church and going to baseball games. She was an ardent Braves fan and went to see them play until her health deteriorated. Mrs. Harrell was a member of the Fayetteville First United Methodist Church where she attended as long as she was able. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
