Irene Estelle Purcell, age 78 of Fayetteville died Monday, February 1, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband Carroll Purcell and previous husbands Bill Hinkle and Sam Stanley. Mrs. Purcell was also preceded by two grandchildren. She is survived by her sons John Floyd Lee of Fayetteville and Keith W. and Lynn Lee of Brunswick; daughters Gail I. Rowlett of Whitesburg, Janet M. Jackson of Jonesboro, Pamela E. and Buddy Wolff of Brunswick and Christine R. and Johnny Brown of Brunswick; grandchildren 12; great-grandchildren seven; brother Walter and Mary Turner of Fayetteville and sister Kathleen and “J.E.” Jones of Brooks. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, February 3, 2010, 2 PM. at the Fayetteville First Baptist Church-Overton Chapel. She will lie in state at 1:30 PM until the time of service. The Rev. Glenn Stringham will officiate. Interment will follow at Camp Memorial Park, Fayetteville. The family will receive friends at the Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville, Tuesday, February 2, 2010, 5-8 PM.
