Mrs. Frances Phillips Waldrop, 87, of Fayetteville, passed away on January 27, 2010. Mrs. Waldrop was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. During WWII, she served her country helping to manufacture airplanes at the old Chevrolet plant in Atlanta. Later she modeled for Riches and at one time was a school crossing guard. She was also a member of the Embroidery Guild of America. She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Robert Alvin Waldrop; daughter, Jenny White of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Owen White and Clayton White of Charleston. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2010 at 11:00 AM in the Overton Chapel of Fayetteville First Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Burial will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro. Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Carl J. Mowell & Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville. For those desiring, donations may be made in her honor to Fayetteville First Baptist Homebound Ministry.
