Benjamin “Ben” Franklin McLaughlin, age 73 of Fayetteville died Saturday, February 6, 2010. Mr. McLaughlin was a native of LaGrange and a graduate of LaGrange College. He worked and later retired from the State of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents Benjamin and Marguerite McLaughlin. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Nora McLaughlin of Fayetteville; son Mike McLaughlin of Athens; daughter Paige and Gregg French of Acworth; grandsons Ben and Ryan French of Acworth; brother Tom and Sharon McLaughlin of LaGrange. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, February 13, 2010, 3 PM in the Chapel of Carl J. Mowell and Son Funeral Home, Fayetteville. The Rev. Jimmy Slick will officiate. The family will receive friends after the service

I moved from LaGrange to Honolulu 40+ years ago and had not seen been for some years before that. Nevertheless, I remember Ben vividly and regret that our lives went by without our paths having crossed since high school. My condolences to his family. Ben will be missed.
