John EllisAugust 29, 2008 Mr. John M. Ellis, Jr., 89, of Fayetteville, died August 29, 2008. He was preceded in death by his parents John M. & Rosa Ellis, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Sara Ellis of Fayetteville; brothers Tom Ellis of McDonough and Sidney & Henrietta Ellis of Powder Springs; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Ellis retired as a Master Sergeant with the United States Army and then continued his career working at Fort MacPherson. He was a past master at Fayetteville Masonic Lodge #711, a member of the Fayette Shrine Club, and a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
Graveside services will be held Monday, September 1, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Camp Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Masonic Children’s Home in Macon, GA.
